"Organizations Not Prepared for Cyber Warfare"

Russia has been at war with Ukraine for nearly a year, and while the conflict has moved to the cyber world, many organizations continue to underestimate its intensity. According to an Armis survey of over 6,000 Information Technology (IT) and security professionals in different industries, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has increased the risk of cyber warfare. Cyber warfare is the future of terrorism, delivering a cost-effective and asymmetric attack strategy that requires constant monitoring and expenditures to defend against, according to the co-founder of the security firm, Nadir Izrael. Izrael says the war is causing geopolitical cyberwarfare shockwaves that will continue to echo in the future. It was discovered that one-third of organizations are indifferent or unconcerned about the impact of cyber warfare, and that almost one-quarter feel unprepared to deal with it. More than half of respondents in charge of IT security reported an increase in threat activity on their network over the past six months. IT professionals concur that their organizations have delayed or even stopped digital transformation projects due to the fear of cyber warfare, particularly in countries such as Australia, the US, Singapore, the UK, and Denmark. This article continues to discuss many organizations being unconcerned or unprepared for cyber warfare.
