"Pentagon Adopts New Ethical Principles for Using AI in War"

The Pentagon's push to speed up its AI capabilities has caused many tech companies to fight over a $10 billion cloud computing contract known as the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure or JEDI. Because of the Pentagon's push to speed up their use of artificial intelligence technology on the battlefield, they have started to put new principles into place. One of the principles put into place is that one must be able to exercise appropriate levels of judgment and care when deploying and using AI systems. Another principle put into place is that decisions made by automated systems need to be governable, and traceable, which means that if one does not agree with the decision of the automated system, then the automated system's decision can be deactivated or disengaged.
