"Real-world Intercontinental Quantum Communications Enabled by the Micius Satellite"
Intercontinental quantum key distribution (QKD) was successfully demonstrated through the use of a satellite by the name of Micius, which was developed by a team of scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. An experiment conducted by scientists in which a secret key was created between two countries separated by 7600 km using the Micius satellite as a trustworthy relay, shows promise for achieving a long-distance global quantum-secured network. This article further discusses the significant achievements made toward an ultra-long-distance global quantum-secured network using the Micius satellite.
