"Security Remains a Major Concern For Enterprise IoT Integration"

Researchers at Syniverse conducted a new survey of 200 enterprise executives in North America and Europe in several key vertical industries already using or in the process of deploying IoT.  These industries include financial services, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality.  Half of the respondents identified data, network, and device security as the biggest challenge to IoT adoption.  The survey revealed that IoT security is creating an adoption lag, with 86 percent of enterprises reporting that IoT deployments have been delayed or constrained due to security concerns.  Of the participants, 50 percent of them reported that their enterprises do not have dedicated teams, processes, or policies for IoT cybersecurity.  The survey also found that companies' budgets for security are significant, with 54 percent of respondents spending 20 percent or higher of their IoT budget on security.
