"SMBs Turn To MSPs to Improve Cybersecurity"

According to a new survey of more than 500 IT decision-makers at small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) conducted by the threat detection and response specialist Vade, 69 percent have experienced a serious breach that bypassed their current email security solution. SMBs are increasingly turning to Managed Service Providers (MSPs), with 96 percent of organizations currently outsourcing at least some of their needs to MSPs or planning to do so in the future. Furthermore, 92 percent say they would be willing to listen to an MSP's email security recommendations in order to reduce their vulnerability. According to Georges Lotigier, CEO of Vade, decision-makers agree that cybersecurity is extremely important, and it will only become more important as the sophistication of cyberattacks grows. However, Vade discovered that, while confidence in cybersecurity is high, it may be misplaced. Attacks have increased in the last year, according to IT decision-makers. Among other findings, 91 percent of IT decision-makers believe cybersecurity will become more important over the next two years, and 63 percent attribute their increased focus on cybersecurity to the increased sophistication of cyberattacks. The most common cyberattacks are malware, password cracking, and phishing. Small businesses are also more likely than enterprises to be targeted by zero-day exploit attacks. This article continues to discuss key findings from Vade's SMB Cybersecurity Landscape Report.
