"Survey: 93 Percent of Americans Fear Cyber Warfare Against US"

An April consumer survey recently released by the Internet security firm NordVPN reveals that many Americans are concerned about the threat of cyber warfare. The survey polled over 1,000 US consumers, 93 percent of which expressed concern over the possibility of a foreign country waging cyber warfare against the US. Only 19 percent of those surveyed were confident in the government's ability to protect citizens from cyber warfare. The survey comes as there are increased reports of cyber activity in Ukraine and Russia. According to the survey, 35 percent of Americans are taking steps to prepare for cyber warfare. More than 50 percent actively update all software on their computers and mobile devices. About four in ten Americans back up important documents, passwords, and office emails. Of those surveyed, 31 percent said they had backup generators, along with food and water storage in case hackers managed to successfully shut down utilities for an extended period of time. This article continues to discuss findings from the survey pertaining to Americans' concern about cyber warfare and what is being done to prepare.
