"Targeting U.S. Banks, Qbot Trojan Evolves With New Evasion Techniques"
The baking trojan, called "Qbot," which was detected by F5 Labs earlier this year, has been updated with some techniques to evade detection and research. According to Doron Voolf, a malware analyst at F5 Labs, Qbot is now able to hide its code from scanners and signature-based tools. Qbot also includes anti-virtual machine techniques to prevent forensic examination. The latest sample of Qbot has been discovered to steal credentials primarily from U.S. banks' online financial services offerings. Targeted financial institutions include J.P. Morgan, Citibank, Bank of America, and Capital One. This article continues to discuss the capabilities, targets, and new techniques of the Qbot banking trojan.
