According to Dr. Arathi Arakala, lecturer in mathematics at RMIT University, TEMU's privacy and cookie policy states that the type of data it gathers includes essential user data for its service, such as address, phone number, and payment information. However, it may also collect information that can be extracted from profiles, such as pictures, interests, purchasing history, links to social network profiles, and government-issued identification. In addition, TEMU specifies that their business partners may collect information regarding users, their computer or device, and their location.
