Toward a Science of Security

The January 2013 edition of the online publication Computing Now is dedicated to the topic of Security Science.

In the opening article for this issue Munindar P. Singh (NCSU)  advocates for a "normative accountability of systems and security as a basis for developing a science of security. This approach fundamentally presupposes an open system in which norms must be grounded in a notion of accountability and where properties can be proven via assumptions and guarantees and metrics can be produced regarding such norms. Understanding these norms will prove crucial to articulating a science of security.”
