Visitor Information

Everyone should report to the receptionist in Lobby 7; parking spaces have been reserved near Lobby 7.  From Lobby 7, visitors will be escorted to Building 17 where the workshop will be held.  A map of the facility is available at http://www.jhuapl.edu/aboutapl/visitor/mapcampus.asp

All clearances must be passed 5 days prior to the meeting. Personnel without clearances will need to bring identification (driver’s license) and employment information (such as a business card). The technical point of contact for the meeting is Maria Vachino.  Alternate point of contact is Fran Bashford.  Instructions for passing clearances are as follows:

For SCI clearances:

SSOs should provide clearances to SMO Code #888983 or fax on company letterhead to 240-238-5538.

For collateral clearances:

Facility name, address, telephone number, CAGE code (if applicable) and certification of facility clearance level

Name, date and place of birth, citizenship, and SSN of individual intending to visit

Certification of the visitor’s PCL

Name of person to be visited

Purpose of the visit

Date of visit

Security office signature

Transportation

The Applied Physics Laboratory is a 25-30 minute drive from BWI airport, 55 minutes - 1 hour from Reagan National airport, and 1 hour and 30 minutes - 2 hours from Dulles International airport.  The Baltimore/Washington area experiences very heavy traffic volume between the hours of 7-9 am and 3-6pm.  If you plan to fly in and out of one of the mentioned airports please lot yourself additional travel time.
