Science News Magazine May 2019 Hint Page

Welcome to the SoS Puzzle Hints Page

Hi there, I'm Adam. I'm the technical lead for a National Security Agency Initiative called Science of Security, or SoS for short. Our goal with SoS is to develop scientific defenses for cybersecurity. You can explore these pages to learn more about what SoS does. https://cps-vo.org/group/SoS This page is hosted on our site to advance SoS.

Let me be the first to say, "congratulations," for finding our hint to figure out what the 225 characters on our page is all about. It's obviously some type of secret message, and your job as an analyst is to figure out what it says. Don't worry, the message is better than "Be Sure To Drink Your Ovaltine."

You can solve the code without any additional hints or resources. It will be hard, but it is not impossible. However, decoding a secret message does not always entail needing to attack it from a purely mathematical approach. Sometimes additional information can be gleaned by studying the users and doing reconnaissance. Like the famous XKCD comic.

That's just illustrating an example. That is not the solution to this problem.

New to cryptanalysis? Don't worry, here are a few pages to help you learn the basics so that you too can solve the message.

For those of you writing a program to solve the puzzle, here is the text in digital form to save you from typing it in:
