The Telegram messaging application has become cybercriminals' go-to assistant for various cyberattacks, as it provides services similar to those found on the dark web via a more accessible platform. Phishing and other cyberattack services are often associated with dark web forums, but the ease of use and privacy features of Telegram have made the platform increasingly attractive to criminals, who advertise a variety of services through its channels. Searchlight Cyber researchers uncovered many phishing services being advertised through Telegram, ranging from simple static pages sold for as little as $50 to significantly more complex and customizable sites with administration pages and controls.
